Creativity in the fight against urban issues!

In 1996 The Partners of the Consortium, recruited a group of young women who hung out in the mall and were considered a public nuisance and started training them to walk the runway! The results were amazing today all those women are employed, or in college! More so they were too busy to cause problems. snce then I have continued wit fashion flyte the young women have changed, in fact this present group were already in college an dlooking for extra curricula activits and volunteer opportunities! Three years later! they will be Launching PinQUE- as a solution to there own need for sustainable income!

Bonnie Sandy Sterling

Art as Micro enterprise; Creativity for Social enterprise!

Designer Bonnie Sandy- Sterlings sees creative thinking as an art-form in itself, and the creative mind, as one of the most valuable assets to society. She is currently in the process of documenting her work since leaving Fashion Institute Of Technology, Planning Jazz of Fashion 2005 and launching her label. She has played a major role in promoting fashion and is an artist and youth advocate. Presently Ms Sandy Sterling practices design for a select custom clientele while consulting privately with artist on Creative Independant Marketing Strategies. her philosophy has enabled her to extend her product line beyond mainstream design, creating product and services that aare a direct result of her clients needs.

Bonnie Sandy-Sterling began and still is an artist whose media is fiber, as practiced in the discipline of fashion design. She is currently in the process of documenting her work since leaving Fashion Institute Of Technology, planning Jazz of Fashion 2005 and launching her label. With The help of Fashion Flyte a group she mentors, she has produced, fascilated, and supported many professional fashion events, fashion programs on the cities public cable stations, hosted the Blackfashion Designer's association @ "Brooklyn By design' . Her fashion show credits run the gamut, from producer, to designer/costumer; from Harlem's Fashion week, Ghana jazz festival,Metrotech's summer jazz on the Commons series, the Trinidad and Tobago Consulate, To Medgar Manhattans top night clubs nd restaurant and Brooklyn Public library,. Last february she took the components of the Artist Mosaic program to Federal Plaza, bringing art, masquerade costumes, poetry, music, and designers and crafters directly to the consumer!

She is currently in the process of documenting her work since leaving Fashion Institute Of Technology, planning Jazz of Fashion 2005 and launching her on-line presence!. “In the Trenches™” and “Artist Mosaic™”, "A-lners™", and "Ceative Independent Strategies™" were developed in response to her clients request for workable solutions! . Artist Mosaic is sponsored by Jazzpazazz Preservation Society, and arrangements are in the works to assist other community organizations, individuals, artist groups, businesses and venues. The Jazz Of Fashion 2005, a fashion showcase featuring designers from the A-liners , takes place annually during the Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival. This years proceeds will benefit various community causes!
